Barossa Fulham

18 July, 2015
Veggie Brekkie at Barossa

Brunch is undoubtedly one of my favourite meals of the day. Luckily for me, there’s a little Australian cafe on New Kings Road, called Barossa which does great all-day brunches at the weekend. Barossa has become a firm favourite of mine and the boy’s and we’ll often head there for brunch/lunch at the weekend.

As we’ve just come back from Venice, we had no food in the house and so decided to head on down for a spot of lunch. It’s worth noting that this place isn’t open that late, today the kitchen was shutting at 3.30pm….luckily, we were just in time!

Barossa isn’t that big inside, however it does have a lovely little garden at the back, and so making the most of the English summer, we chose a table outside. The service at Barossa is always top-notch. The staff are always super friendly, efficient and nothing is too much. They also all seem happy to work there, which definitely contributes to the laid back feel of the place.

Upon sitting down, we ordered a couple of glasses of house white and perused the menu. I opted for the Veggie Brekkie (pictured above). This includes poached or scrambled eggs, garlic field mushrooms, grilled halloumi, grilled tomato, sautéed spinach, corn fritter and sour dough toast. As I can’t eat gluten, I asked if I could swap the toast and fritter for some avocado, which was no trouble whatsoever.

The food came pretty quickly and was delicious. It all tasted really fresh and asking if I could substitute the gluten items for avocado was a great shout – they gave me a chunky guacamole which was a great addition to the dish. The poached eggs were done to perfection, still runny and provided some great #yolkporn! I polished off the entire meal, it really hit the spot!

The boy went for the Pulled Pork Wrap, and really enjoyed it. The wrap was packed with pulled pork and looked really juicy, not at all dry.

As it’s a cafe, they also do coffee, cakes, juices etc. Whilst we didn’t have these on this occasion, we’ve had these before and would definitely recommend. For the first time today, I spotted the gluten-free chocolate brownie. It looks epic. Unfortunately I was full following my brekkie, but next time…!

Good news as well, for those that are feeling too delicate to venture out, Barossa are on Deliveroo. Meaning you can get a top-notch brunch delivered to your door. I’ve taken advantage of this before and can say that the food travels very well. Sadly, you don’t get someone to serve it to you, and you will need to get up to answer the door….but trust me, it’s worth it!

This is definitely a Fulham gem, and well worth the visit or order if you’re in the area!
